PHE fast food obesity England

Public Health England has published map, area deprivation chart and data tables showing the density of fast food outlets in England, by local authority and ward.

Under the rubric ‘Obesity and the Environment’ the map shows that in England there are on average 96.5 fast food outlets for every 100,000 people.

A primary school in Sutton has won Tilda Together 2018 and scooped a £500 cash prize, as well as a vegetable garden designed by horticulturalist and presenter of ITV’s Love Your Garden, Frances Tophill.

Foresters Primary School in Wallington won Tilda’s annual competition after catering manager, Terri Phillimore entered the school to win the special day.

As the winner of LACA’s 2018 School Chef of the Year (SCOTY) competition, Michael Goulston has just returned from a three-day trip to Germany with equipment manufacturer MKN.

Members of the Lead Association for CAtering in Education (LACA) are being urged to complete a survey on universal infant free school meals (UIFSM) that will be used to publish a report later in the year.

The survey is being carried out jointly with the Association of Public Service Excellence (APSE) with a deadline for responses of September 15th.
